We are looking for instructors and coaches with a fun, outgoing, energetic personality able to work with youth of various ages. Candidates may instruct/coach within various volleyball programs including camps, academy, leagues, or with our competitive club teams.

Our goal for all coaches is to become confident and successful in their role through ongoing support, mentorship, and guidance as needed.

We are currently seeking coaches/instructors for the following positions:

• HEAD COACHES
• ASSISTANT COACHES
• LEAD INSTRUCTOR

HEAD COACHES - Phoenix Volleyball Club 17U Girls
Those interested in a head coach position with Phoenix Volleyball Club should be at least 18 years old with prior coaching and playing experience.

Practices are at least 3 weeknights between 5:30pm-10pm with 6 to 8 tournaments on weekends at various dates/times.

Head coaches are responsible to transport provided equipment (volleyballs, cart, etc) to and from practices/games and therefore require appropriate and reliable transportation to various locations.  You must have reliable transportation with the ability for travel to possible tournaments within MB, SK, and ON. 

Compensation for Head Coaches is provided as follows:

• Honorarium - Amount is based on several factors including knowledge, experience , team age class. Provided in 2 or 3 equal payments.
• Travel - Airfare or mileage allowance, as determined by the club, is provided for travel to attend club scheduled tournament events outside Winnipeg. Coaches are expected to share travel when feasable.
• Hotel - Accommodations to attend club scheduled tournament events that require extended travel with overnight stay, as determined by the club, are provided. Coaches are expected to share accommodations when feasable.
• Meals - A meal allowance is provided for attending regular club scheduled tournament events that require extended travel.
• Merchandise - coach apparel including practice shirts, sweat pants, hoodie/crew neck and/or track suit.
• Education - reimbursement of club approved course and workshop fees for coaching requirements, certifications, and upgrading.
  
  

ASSISTANT COACHES - Phoenix Volleyball Club 17U Girls
Those interested in an Assistant Coach position with Phoenix Volleyball Club should be at least 18 years old with prior playing experience.

You would be expected to attend all regular scheduled practices which are at least 3 weeknights between 5:30pm-10pm and 6 to 8 tournaments on weekends at various dates/times.

Compensation for Head Coaches is provided as follows:

JUNIOR COACHES - Phoenix Volleyball Club
Junior Coaches are technically Assistant Coaches but without any formal coach training or experience and at least 16 years of age.

As a Junior Coach, you would be paired with a Head Coach that would act as a mentor and provide guidance and instruction.

Junior Coaches should attend as many regular practices and local tournaments as possible but are not expected or required to attend away tournaments where travel is required.

Only coach merchandise is provided to Junior Coaches aquiring hours for a school volunteer program; Otherwise, the following compensation is provided:

• Honorarium - amount is based on commitment/availability and is provided in 2 or 3 equal payments.
• Travel - Travel expenses (airfare or mileage) are not provided for Junior Coaches. Junior Coaches may travel and share accomodations with Assistant or Head Coaches if agreed upon.
• Hotel - Accomodation expenses are not provided as travel is not expected.
• Meals - Meal allowance is not provided as travel is not expected.
• Merchandise - Coach practice shirts and sweatpants provided.
• Education - Reimbursement of fees for minimum coaching requirments to be allowed on bench for Provincial tournaments.
  
  

LEAD INSTRUCTOR - Phoenix Volleyball League 12U-14U Girls

Our League program is tentatively scheduled to start in 2026.

The Lead Instructor must be at least 18 year of age and is responsible for planning and instructing age appropriate drills one weekday evening to 4 teams with volunteer parent bench coaches.

All staff, coaches, and volunteers over 18 years of age working directly with youth or acting as a ‘Person In Authority’ must complete certain mandatory background checks and may be required to  complete certain workshops/certifications as specified by Volleyball Manitoba and Volleyball Canada. These are all very simple to complete but we provide any help you might need to complete them.
