**Exciting News for the 2026-2027 Cheer Season!**
We are thrilled to kick off our 2026-2027 cheer season with two fantastic teams! Just like in previous years, we'll have our Mini's team for athletes in 1st through 4th grade and our Junior's team for those in 5th through 8th grade.
This year, we're working hard to align our youth program with the high school cheer program. Our goal is to equip our cheerleaders with the fundamental skills they need, so when they transition to high school cheer, they can focus on mastering more complex moves.
Get ready for a season filled with fun, teamwork, and cheerleading fundamentals! We can’t wait to see everyone on the mat!
**Safety and Stunting Rules**
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all cheerleaders, it’s essential to follow these important safety and stunting guidelines:
**No Inversions**: The head of a flyer or top person must never go below the hips during stunts. This helps prevent injuries and maintains safety for everyone involved.
**Spotters Required**: A designated spotter is mandatory for all stunts at the prep level and higher. Spotters play a key role in ensuring the safety of the flyer.
**Limited Twisting**: Twisting or spinning is not allowed during multi-base release transitions or dismounts. This rule is in place to keep our athletes safe while performing.
**Toss Restrictions**: For elementary-level teams, basket tosses and elevated release moves to cradles are strictly prohibited or heavily restricted. Keeping stunts age-appropriate is vital for safety.
**Tumbling Safety Rules**
**Standing Tumbling**: Only basic skills like cartwheels, rolls, and single back handsprings are allowed; series handsprings or tucks are typically banned.
**Running Tumbling**: Approaches must be simple; aerials or twisting flips are not permitted.
**Uniform and General Conduct**
**No Jewelry**: All jewelry, including stud earrings, must be removed during practices and performances, except for taped medical or religious bracelets.
**Covered Midriff**: Cheer apparel must cover the midriff completely when standing at attention.
**Proper Shoes**: Safe, rubber-soled athletic cheer shoes are required at all times to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Let’s work together to keep our cheer environment safe and fun!
