UPDATES THROUGHOUT SEASON ON Teamlinkt, Facebook (Outlook Soccer Association), or email: https://leagues.teamlinkt.com/outlooksoccer. Please download Teamlinkt, and check junk mail regularly throughout the season.

Sask Central Soccer League is made up of teams from 8-9 local communities. It is a non- competitive/recreational league. The purpose is to expose children to the game of soccer, teach some early skills, and most importantly to have fun! There are no tryouts for teams. Teams are chosen by the children's ages, not skill levels. Efforts are made to have similar numbers of boys and girls on teams. Due to the large number of players in our league, we are not able to accommodate special requests for particular teams. Please email outlooksoccer@gmail.com before March 15th with any mandatory player needs. Teams will be announced via Teamlinkt ap. Schedule of practices and games should be put on Teamlinkt by the coach so anticipated attendance can be tracked easily for games. Coaches will try to make arrangements if there are not enough players needed to play. Usually the other Outlook team or the opposing team may be able to provide extras.

SEASON DETAILS:

• Soccer is every Monday and Wednesday night (except holiday May long Monday).

• All players sign out uniforms (jersey and shorts), including U4. Players will know their team from the teamlinkt ap sending emails. Check your junk mail initially!

• For any indoor practices at the RecPlex during extreme weather, please note cleats are not allowed. Non-marking runners are the only footwear allowed on the arena surfaces.

• All soccer practices and home games are located behind the elementary and high school surrounding and directly on the football field grass.

A Porta Potty is graciously donated from Outlook Rentals for the season! Please show them your appreciation! The porta potty will be open during practice and game times (6:30-8:00pm) on Mondays and Wednesdays only. Please use the rec plex arena if the porta potty has to be closed for any reason.

Make Up Games:

Cancellations may happen due to extreme weather. Notifications are to be given to families of cancelled games for home or away games APPROXIMATELY 3 hours before game time (around 4pm). Keep in mind coaches work too, so be patient! Make up games may be rescheduled on a Monday night instead of having a practice if both teams agree and at the discretion of the coaches. This is optional. There is a new fire smoke policy from the league: any smoke index rating expected to be 8 or higher will automatically cancel all games in that community.

U4 and U6 Supervision at Practices & Games

Parents are not to leave the outdoor proximity of the soccer area when practices or games are being played. If a parent must leave, there must be another parent in charge of that child and the coach must be notified ahead of time. Some teams only have one coach, so bathroom breaks across the field require a parent to take the child.

U6 Non Travel Team:

Occasionally there is a non-travel U6 team. This team may opt in to attend the year-end tournament. It is advised that practice games be arranged well in advance of the year-end tournament (against other communities or the local teams) for exposure to game play and game rules. Coaches will arrange exhibition games as able and communicate through teamlinkt ap.

PLAYER EQUIPMENT

• Needed for each practice and game: Shin guards, soccer/long socks, and a water bottle. Bug spray and sunscreen may also be required, and are not provided by the coaches.

• SHIN GUARDS (UNDER) LONG SOCKS MUST BE WORN TO PLAY!!!! This is required by our insurance coverage, which is completely void if there is an injury and the player is not wearing shin guards and long socks over the shin guards. More importantly, we want our players to be safe! Please ensure that your player has these items at each practice and game, or they will be sent home.

• No hats with brims are allowed to be worn on the soccer field. A soft toque without a brim may be worn if it is cold. All jewellery must be removed (watches, rings, necklaces, and earrings including studs). This is a league policy. No exceptions. Do not get piercings before the short season!

***NEW POLICY FROM LEAGUE***: Pre game line-up: each team will make a single line on each half of the field before the game begins. The coaches will go down the line to perform a checklist to ensure each player meets the above rules. Non-compliance will mean removal from the game for everyone’s safety.

COACHES, ASST COACH, AND MANAGERS:

Each team would benefit from having an assistant coach, and/or a manager. If there is only one coach, please volunteer to help manage the season (for substitutions during games especially). If no one steps up, parents will need to rotate helping (with subbing on the sidelines, etc.). This is a fun soccer league that relies on the wonderful parents who volunteer, so thank you to those who have!  Please ask your dedicated coach how you can help – with set up/take down of equipment, subbing at the sidelines, refereeing on the field, etc.

Referees - We are always interested in more referees! The league may be having a referee clinic to help learn the skills needed to ref, so please contact the OSA board if you know anyone interested. It is a paid position ($40) for each of the home games for U12, U14, and U16 games. You don't need to be a soccer player to ref, but you require knowledge of the game and rules. We supply the whistles and the ref must wear a differing color then the player jerseys on each team.
