JOIN THE OSCAR MIKE GANG AND GET ON THE MOVE TODAY

WHAT IS OSCAR MIKE: IN THE MILITARY THE CALL SIGN "OSCAR MIKE" MEANS ON THE MOVE. DURING COVID WE WANTED TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET KIDS ON THE MOVE SAFELY. BOX LACROSSE IS TRADITIONALLY PLAYED INDOORS DURING THE WINTER IN THE UNITED STATES. IN CANDA BOX LACROSSE IS PLAYED OUTDOORS ON A MELTED RINK DURING THE SUMMER. WE NEEDED AN OUTDOOR SPACE WE COULD USE AND OSCAR MIKE BOX LACROSSE WAS BORN. WE PLAYED OUTDOORS AT FRANKLIN REGIONAL PARK ALL FALL AND WINTER. OUR KIDS LEARNED HOW TO ADOPT AND OVERCOME ADVERSITY. OUR GOAL IS TO TEACH THE MEDICINE GAME TO ALL. WE PLAN TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR KIDS OF ALL ABILITIES AND SKILL LEVELS

WHY TEACH BOYS AND GIRLS AGE 3-7 BOX LACROSSE

Lacrosse is the fastest sport on two feet

Box Lacrosse is the fastest version of lacrosse. Normally we grow up playing field lacrosse in the United States, however when learning as a 4 year old it seemed to make sense to use a hockey rink to learn. The hockey rink provides boards to keep the ball in play. When the ball hits the wall it rolls back, creating a ground ball opportunity. New players need lots of reps picking up ground balls and throwing/catching. In our first season we noticed a significant increase in touches at the U5 age due to the boards, missed passes were not traveling a great distance. Is not fun walking to retrieve missed passes when you are just learning. We found that the rebounds made play quicker, more ground balls and more time to run. More Fun and less walking. Join us as we get on the move!

" If I had my choice, I would have every player under the age of 12 play box lacrosse exclusively or at least a majority of the time" .
