5V5 BIG MAN RUSH

The Old Pueblo Football League believes that the five players up front are crucial to the game, and we want our youth to understand their importance. It is especially essential for linemen to get physical and develop skills at a young age. Our goal is to change how linemen perceive themselves, and we believe that the 5v5 format is the best way to achieve this. We are committed to providing local competition for linemen, making them an inclusive part of our offseason culture. We aim to offer opportunities through our league to transform the way youth linemen approach the game. Linemen should take pride in their role, knowing that they are the foundation of football.

Game Play Summary
Lineman teams each have 5 athletes in each match. One team will be Offense and the other Defense. The players line up with 2 ft spacing between them in the same format as tackle offense and defense. The match then consists of 1v1 battles with the defense trying to reach the simulated quarterback (tackling bag) as the offense tries to stop them. A rep starts on the offensive players movement. Points are then awarded by the referee and annotated by one member from each team that is the stat keeper/verifier to log correct stats of each match. Numbers will be verified by the REF and other teams stat keeper/verifier to ensure integrity. The points will be based on how quickly The defensive lineman get to the Quarterback or how long The Offensive lineman can protect the Quarterback. A match consists of a 20 Minute running Clock. Possessions are 2 reps per athlete, then switch Offense and Defense.
