NGSMHA is looking for coaches at our REP and HOUSE DIVISIONS for our 2024-2025 season.  Completed application forms are to be submitted to  benoit_jonathan@hotmail.com

Coaching U7

Here's what you need to be certified for U7:

Trained status is required for the position of Initiation Head Coach.  To achieve this status you must complete the following components:

  • Coach 1 (1 day in class course)
  • Hockey Canada Coach 1 (online clinic)
  • Hockey Canada Coach 1 - U7 (online module specifically for coaches coaching U7)

  • Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders
  • Gender Identity Online Training

1. The Hockey Canada Coach 1 online course must be completed before the coach can register for the Coach 1 in class course.
2. All on ice Coaches/Assistant Coaches/Instructors at  U7  must take the Coach 1 course. There are no exceptions to this rule and no other levels of qualification are acceptable at the U7  level.

The first step is setting up a Hockey Canada account for yourself.  This login information is what you will use to register for the online and other courses (you'll need to add yourself as a participant when registering for the courses).

Referees

To book or reschedule a referee, please contact NGS Referee Scheduler Jason Foster.

When booking referees for an exhibtion game, the coach is required to pay for the referees.  Please refer to the HEO referee pay rate guideline below for pricing.

Travel and Insurance Forms

Teams travelling outside of Hockey Eastern Ontario boundaries or to the USA for games or tournaments must fill in a travel form.

Ice will be not available on the following dates due to tournaments at the arenas – any home games booked on these dates will need to be moved.
