MMFA - Team Staff ID Cards
August 15, 2025
From MMFA Bylaw
B7.04 All team staff will wear ID badges as provided by Football Manitoba for the current season. ID badges are to be visible at all times. Anyone without a valid ID badge must leave the team sideline.
Suggested actions- In the pregame conference with the head coach, Referee and Umpire make the coach aware that ID cards will be checked before kickoff.
- The Referee and one sideline official check the ID cards of one team; the Umpire and one sideline officialcheck the ID cards of the other team.
- Team staff who do not have a physical ID card visible will be instructed to leave the bench area.
- While not explicitly stated in the Bylaw, the Referee will use their discretion as to when to allow team staff in the bench area when they return with an ID card. Practical points would be stoppages such as time outs or quarter change.
- Officials are encouraged to use their best judgement with trainers and hired professionals (athletic therapists). Trainers that do not have an ID card and are clearly "coaching" during the game should be questioned during a reasonable break in play and possibly asked to leave the bench. For enforcement, Referee may apply a "Delay of Game" penalty.
- As a last resort, or for abuse of an official for this reason, the Referee will call the game and the team in violation will forfeit the game. (MMFA Bylaw B6.02d)
