About MFRA

Founded in 2002, the Manitoba Football Referees’ Association (MFRA) is dedicated to providing qualified football officials and timekeepers for community football in Winnipeg, Manitoba and surrounding areas.

Each year, MFRA offers a structured training program to prepare officials for the upcoming tackle football seasons. Our mentorship approach pairs experienced referees with newer officials to support learning and development on the field. We are deeply committed to making tackle football a safe, positive, and enjoyable experience for youth in our communities, and we uphold Football Manitoba’s Code of Conduct with the utmost integrity.

The MFRA proudly includes over 50 active on-field officials and timekeepers with diverse levels of certification. Collectively, our members officiate over 600 community tackle football games each season, running from May through October
