Football:  Flag Football  -->  Instructional Tackle  -->  Competitive Tackle 

•  Kindergarten & Grade 1: Combined flag program – perfect for learning basics in a fun, non-contact setting, emphasizing skills, confidence, and enjoyment. This program prioritizes building strong fundamentals early and transitioning players more effectively into tackle.

•  Grades 2 & 3: Instructional tackle football, where coaches are allowed on the field to provide direct, hands-on coaching, teach proper techniques safely, guide plays, and support young players as they learn the full game at an appropriate pace.

•   Grades 4-8: Continue with standard tackle divisions, building on that solid foundation for more competitive play.

This is a streamlined football progression, designed to improve skill development, enhance safety through better-coached introductions to contact, and create a clear pathway from first steps in flag. The aim is to develop confident tackle players ready for middle school, high school, and beyond.

Cheer:  grades K-8

Cheer is also a progressive program, beginning with 1-2 practices per week for younger cheerleaders, and 3-4 practices per week for older cheerleaders. Divisions include 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U, with more competitions for older divisions.

Cheer also offers an adaptive program for kids who may need a different atmosphere. Registration is under Mighty Colts. Email cheer@medwaycolts.com with questions.
