GAME PLAY

    1. Each game will begin with a 1-minute warm-up followed by two 22-minute run time periods.  At referee discretion, time can be altered.
    2. One referee.  For the playoff championship game there will be two.
    3. Teams responsible for pucks (Warm-ups/Game).
    4. Teams will not switch sides at half.
    5. No timeouts.  Referee may stop time due to injury.
    6. Faceoffs
  • Referee will drop puck in timely manner at nearest faceoff dot, even if skaters are not present.  (Example:  Last five-minute, close game, teams need to lineup asap.  Some teams will try to skate slowly to faceoff to run the time down.  Referee can drop puck if one team is ready and other team trying to delay with late change).
  • Offsides - faceoff will be held at nearest dot outside of zone.
  • High Stick/Hand Pass – faceoff will be held at nearest faceoff dot in netural zone.
  • Penalties – faceoff will be held at nearest dot inside offending team zone.
  • Kick-in goal – faceoff held at nearest dot outside of defending team zone.
    1. Icing - Defensive Blue Line Icing (Not the red line).
  • This is to reduce whistles during runtime game.
  • No icing last 2 Minutes.  Usually, the team with a lead will ice the puck regardless of icing call.  This helps avoid multiple stoppages during runtime in a close game. It is more advantageous for the team to go back and retrieve the puck themselves.
    1. No Checking
    2. No Slapshots.
  • Below waist level deemed legal.
    1. Goals can be called at referee discretion.
  • If the net is dislodged by a goaltender/defender action.
  • The referee can decide if a goal should count if the goalie was trying to put the net back on and was unable to square up to shooter.  Or if the puck would have gone in regardless of the net being off.
  • The goalie should always try to reset the goal to avoid stoppages.
    1.  If the puck goes out of play and bounces back in, play will continue without stoppage.
  • Puck hitting mesh netting above glass behind net is playable.
    1.  No Overtime
    2.  Forfeits

Teams cannot meet the minimum requirements of four skaters and a goalie.

Teams refuse to play a team with minimum requirements.

Teams play a sub, suspended, or illegal player.

If a situation occurs when both teams cannot meet requirements, then both teams are credited with a score of 0-0.

A team winning by forfeit will be credited with a 1-0 victory.
