Baseball Weekly 1.11 - Stat Geek Edition 2025
All winter you worked out, cut some carbs, took extra cuts in the cage, skipped the elevator for the stairs and saved up your car change for that special customized bat and now it’s time to see if all the hard work paid off - or you can just be Tom Corcoran. Yes, it’s time to drool over the Federal League baseball statistics from the 2025 season.
With the help of Todd Haag, Jamie Houselog and some Canadian math - here are some statistical highlights from this season along with all the leaderboards you can handle. Before we jump into the numbers pool we have to post our list of violators to help keep the numbers clean and honest as much as possible.
- Team violators:
- Eden Prairie Flyers all had 0 ERA, so we deleted their pitching stats for 2025.
- River Falls batting stats were added manually – only Hits & AB was provided
- Red West had no stats for 2025.
League Numbers
The league overall is growing and expansion has been a common the past few seasons, does that mean that the pitching has gotten worse or we are now seeing better hitters, that’s a debate for the Fed Up! Podcast but in 2025 the League Batting Average was up a point over the fifteen year average; .325 in 2025 compared to .324 (15 year Average) and the League ERA went up in 2025 to 4.31 verses the (15 Year Average) of 4.02 ERA.
Noonan! Federal League teams averaged 14 ROE (Reached on Error) this past summer, it averaged out to -1 per game. But seven teams don’t have any ROE recorded, while nineteen teams had only 8-24 ROE and six teams had 25-35 ROE. A players batting average can swing +/- 35pts due to differing error stat keeping practices verses the league average of ~1 per game. Yet no proof of fudging the books for the parking lot trade of a free beer for an extra hit in the scorebook.
Another great sign is that no one is leaving the league as players are sticking around and playing longer careers, according to the numbers 2266 players have played in the Federal League over the past fifteen years. That’s a big number. So congratulations to all the weeknight - and if your wife allows - weekend warriors still getting up to the plate to swing a bat.

Team Stat Nuggets
New teams over the past two to six seasons hold the Top Six spots in the all-time winning percentage; Minnoka, Hastings, East Metro, Waconia, Rosemount and Tonka Bay. A couple of veteran Fed teams still impress though with Rockford having ten straight 11+ win seasons and Lakeville nine straight 10+ win seasons.
East Metro, Minnoka, Rosemount and Hastings are Top Five All-Time in both ERA & OPS.
2025 Single Season All-Time Leaders
Tom Corcoran didn’t surpass his incredible 2021 season, but he now holds the #1 and #2 seasons in Total Bases, Slugging and OPS. Tom also hit seven triples this season to pass Todd Haag’s 2016 league record of six. Tom also led the league in 2025 in Homeruns and RBI’s but not single season records.
Nate Stark hit .650 to become the all-time single season batting average leader moving ahead of Chris Dock’s 2013, .644. Stark also led the league in doubles and was runner up in OBP, Slugging and OPS. Somehow Nick Larson hitting .667 with 24 hits in 2023 was forgotten from the record books?
Not all-time single season records, but sprinkled across the top of the 2025 pitching leader boards was; Bill Dunker, Matt Grill, Andy Gaddis and Cliff Christopherson.
Stat Era Career Milestones (2010-2025)
Steve Jahnke went over 300K to join Tony Brown in the 300K Club. Steve also passed Tony Brown as the only two players with 50+ wins. These players recently qualified for all-time career leaders are are near the Top of both ERA and WHIP: Cliff Christopherson (#1 all time ERA at 1.06), Jim Brower, Josh Stoll, Matt Grill, Trent Larson and Jack Nelson.
Ryan Marshall and Todd Haag initiated the 300 hit club. These players qualified for all-time career leaders and are near the Top of each OPS, Average, Slugging and OBP; Tom Corcoran, Dan Casazza, Scott Buettner, Steve Kleppen, Joey Olson, Jack Nelson and Logan Pickney.
