In an exhilarating display of skill and determination, New Kent High School's Wrestling team once again claimed the title of Group 3A State runners-up for the second year in a row. The competition, held over two intense days on Feb. 16-17, saw the Trojans score an impressive 153 points to secure their position as the second-best team in the state.
Despite facing tough competition, New Kent's wrestlers showed their mettle and fought hard to earn their spots on the podium. Led by state champion Tristan Carter, who triumphed in a thrilling sudden victory match in the 113-pound division, the team also boasted four bronze medalists: Alex Cuic, Kyle Gibson, Noah Cuic, and Quinn Morrison.
With additional strong performances from Adam Ayala, Noah Bentley, Peyton McNamee, Jason Bennett, Chase Wiles, Cory Siebert, Pedro Williamson, and Jared Edeza, the Trojans proved once again that they are a force to be reckoned with in the world of high school wrestling. Their impressive showing at the state competition is a testament to their hard work and dedication, and sets the stage for even greater achievements in the future.
