Last weekend in beautiful Kamloops, British Columbia made a powerful statement at the Canada Senior Flag Football Nationals, showcasing five outstanding teams across both men's and women's divisions. Representing BC, the teams included Vancity Vice and the BC Gators in the men's division, and EZE, West Coast Reign, and a late addition, BC Storm, in the women's division. Their collective performances demonstrated that BC is a formidable force in the national flag football scene.

Vancity Vice: A Quest for Gold

In the men's division, Vancity Vice delivered an exceptional performance throughout the tournament. They went undefeated in the round robin stage with an impressive 5-0 record, solidifying their reputation as one of the top teams in the country. Their journey culminated in a thrilling gold medal match against The Braves De Montreal. Despite a hard-fought battle, Vancity Vice took home the silver medal, falling just short of their ultimate goal. Undeterred, the team has vowed to return next year with renewed determination and unfinished business.

BC Gators: A Strong Contender

The BC Gators also showcased their skill and competitiveness in the men's division. Although they did not reach the finals, their performance throughout the tournament was commendable, proving that they are a team to watch in future competitions.

EZE and West Coast Reign: Powerhouses in the Women's Division

On the women's side, EZE and West Coast Reign both demonstrated why they are considered powerhouses in their division. EZE's strategic plays and cohesive teamwork made them a formidable opponent, while West Coast Reign's agility and resilience were evident in every match. Both teams played exceptionally well, earning respect and admiration from their competitors and setting the stage for even greater achievements in the future.

BC Storm: A Remarkable Late Addition

The late addition of BC Storm to the women's division added an extra layer of excitement to the tournament entry from BC. Despite joining the competition at the last minute, BC Storm quickly found their footing and delivered some outstanding performances. Their adaptability and competitive spirit were on full display, making them a team to be reckoned with.

BC's Flag Football Future

The success of these five teams at the Canada Senior Flag Football Nationals sends a clear message: British Columbia is a rising powerhouse in flag football. The dedication, skill, and teamwork exhibited by Vancity Vice, BC Gators, EZE, West Coast Reign, and BC Storm have set a high standard for future competitions. As these teams continue to grow and develop, the rest of Canada should be prepared for even fiercer competition from BC in the years to come.
