🏈 Female Football Pathway – Fundy Minor Football

Community Tackle Football (Coed)

💥U10 (Ages 8–9, Born 2016–2017) – Coed tackle football. Players begin learning the game in a safe, supportive environment.

💥U12 (Ages 10–11, Born 2014–2015) – Coed tackle football continues with more structured practices and gameplay.

💥U14 (Ages 12–13, Born 2012–2013) – Still coed, preparing athletes for more advanced play and potential transition.

👉 At this point, female athletes transition into the Varsity Girls Stream for high school-aged competition.

Varsity Girls Football (Tackle Fall Season)

Ages 14–18 (Grades 9–12)

💥Dedicated all-female tackle football teams.

💥Compete against other varsity girls programs across the province and PEI.

💥Strong pathway for players who want to pursue football at a higher level beyond community leagues.

Female Flag Football (Spring Season)

U10 and U12 are co-ed.

U14, U16, and U18 female-only teams

💥A non-contact, fast-paced version of the game.

💥Open exclusively to girls, giving athletes an additional opportunity to develop skills, strategy, and fitness outside the fall tackle season.

💥Builds confidence, agility, and community while keeping more females engaged in football year-round.

✅ Why It Matters

💥Female athletes can start coed, then move into either Varsity Girls tackle or continue in flag football, depending on their goals.

💥Ensures there is a complete pathway from youth to high school for girls in football.

💥Opens opportunities to provincial, national, and even international levels of women’s football.

⚡Start young. Train hard. Represent your community.
