Under 6 - Under 16: $70 + GST / player plus a $30 Lakeview Community Association Membership (1 per family)
Under 4: $35 + GST / player $30 Lakeview Community Association Membership (1 per family)
The Lakeview Community Association (“LCA”) Board sets the individual fees for the program every year.
An annual Lakeview Community Association Membership is required to register, in addition to participant fees. This membership covers all participants from the same family and costs $30.
An LCA membership can be purchased here: lakeviewyyc.ca
The registration fee helps cover several important aspects of the program, including:
In addition, every child will receive a t-shirt and a water bottle thanks to our sponsors.
Yes. LCA’s No One Left Behind program works to ensure every child who wants to play can, regardless of their families financial situation. For more information, please contact the Lakeview Office at info@lakeviewyyc.ca.
Almost all registrations will require a new LCA membership at time of registration.
There may be a few families who have already paid for their LCA membership. In this case, please complete your registration and make a second payment. Then, email soccer@lakeviewyyc.ca and we will issue a refund for the duplicate payment.
LCA memberships are valid from July 1 to June 30 each year. If purchased at time of registration (i.e.: February), it will apply to the one-year period immediately following the end of the soccer season. This ensures families receive 12 full months of benefit from their LCA membership.
As long as the season has not started, the registration fee is fully refundable. To cancel your registration, please email: soccer@lakeviewyyc.ca. The Lakeview Community Association membership fee is non-refundable.
Yes! Players from all over the city are welcome to join. An LCA membership is required at time of registration, regardless of where you live.
We are unable to accept new registrations after the March 11, 2025, deadline. Rostering, field booking, and scheduling begins immediately after registration closes to ensure the league is fully prepared for the season to begin.
Each registrant may request to play with one friend. We want all players to have the best experience possible and will do our best to accommodate friend requests; however, we cannot guarantee them.
To increase the likelihood of being matched, please:
We are unable to accommodate requests to play with more than one friend. Joining a team of familiar faces and new teammates creates a wonderful opportunity to make new friends while enjoying the game!
In age groups where players are assigned to teams, the rostering process is completed manually and must meet several requirements:
Once these requirements are met, we can begin addressing friend requests. Experience has proved that it is almost impossible to accommodate multiple friend requests.
Unfortunately, no. Participants are assigned to age groups based solely on their birth year, and we cannot move players to a different category.
As a community-based program focused on social connection, we prioritize children playing with peers in their age group to encourage friendships and inclusivity.
Since the program is volunteer run, we don't have the resources to evaluate individual player development needs. For families seeking a more competitive, skill-focused environment, we recommend exploring organizations like Chinooks FC, which offer programs tailored to more competitive interests.
There are no public washrooms available to use, including those in the nearby schools or community centre. Families are encouraged to arrive with empty bladders!
Coaches are responsible for deciding on game day cancellations. While weather conditions are the most common reason, other factors - such as air quality or field conditions (snow-covered or waterlogged) - are also considered. The safety and well being of the children will always be the top priority.
As a general rule, assume a session is proceeding unless you hear otherwise directly from the coach.
It’s not uncommon for younger children, especially, to feel nervous or stressed about playing in front of crowds or their peers. Some may think their skills don't match up to their teammates. This nervousness can sometimes lead to disengagement or withdrawal from the activity, session, or program. Parents can support their kids by:
The program is organized primarily through volunteer efforts, with on-field coaching being a key role in its success. More details on this are provided below.
Beyond the on-field activities, there is much behind-the-scenes work that goes on before, during, and after the season. Our volunteer team handles registration, rostering, scheduling, and communications. We also have volunteers who sort and distribute our equipment, which includes balls, shirts, nets, air pumps, kit bags, first-aid kits, and pylons. Each year, players receive medals, a team photo, and a year-end treat. Some age groups have coordinators who oversee on-field activities to ensure participants, coaches, and volunteers are having a positive experience and enjoying themselves.
And, we welcome other volunteers who share our love for the community - the more the merrier!
With all this being said, no one should feel obligated to volunteer, and parents do not have to volunteer to register their kids. Being a positive and enthusiastic parent is the best way to participate!
No! Prior coaching or soccer experience is not required. Only a handful of our volunteer coaches have experience coaching youth soccer, and some have limited soccer knowledge. (Some even admit to watching a YouTube crash course before the season starts!)
Some teams have more than one coach, so you may not be alone, and parents are typically happy to pitch in if you need an extra set of hands.
What You Do Need: We only ask that you bring enthusiasm, positivity, and a willingness to create an encouraging atmosphere that the kids can feed off during soccer nights!
Coaching your child's soccer team makes you a hero both as a parent and as a community member. It's an undeniably rewarding experience that creates lasting memories and gives you a chance to meet new people in the community. Put yourself out there and have fun!
There are several competitive soccer programs available in Calgary.
We've built a strong working partnership with Chinooks FC and highly recommend checking our their programs.
They provide year-round programing, including league play and skill development training. Chinooks FC have traditionally focused on serving Calgary's southwest quadrant.
The Lakeview Community Youth Program appreciates the contributions from our valued sponsors and welcomes others who wish to contribute.
