Friday Night League – Sherman Soccer Complex
What is NFL FLAG?
Gateway Flag Football at Sherman Soccer Complex is part of NFL FLAG, the official NFL flag football program (NFL-branded uniforms) with leagues across the United States. Gateway Flag has also been recognized as one of NFL FLAG’s top 100 programs.
What ages do you serve?
Ages 4–16.

When are practices?
- One practice per week, 1 hour long
- Practices are on Monday or Wednesday at 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM
- The coach chooses the night/time for practices
- You can request a specific practice night during registration
When are games?
- Games are on Friday nights (under the lights), typically between 6:00–9:00 PM
What is the game schedule for spring 2026?
- No practices over Lee County Spring Break (week of March 16)
- First game: March 27
- Playoffs: Week of May 11
- Championships: June 4
Do you offer multiple seasons?
- Fall: Sep–Nov
- Winter: Dec–Feb
- Spring: Mar–May
When does registration open?
- Fall: Opens in May
- Winter: Opens in August
- Spring: Opens in November
How much does it cost?
Coed division $175, Girls division $165 with a sibling discount of $10.
Do you need to live in Gateway to play?
No—players do not need to live in Gateway or attend school in Gateway to participate.
Are there divisions?
Yes. We offer multiple age divisions, and exact divisions may adjust depending on registrations.
Are discounts available?
Yes—early bird and sibling discounts are offered and are automatically applied during registration when eligible.
Will my child make a team?
Yes—all registered players make a team.
What is the “Combine” / evaluation?
Evaluations (Combine) are used to rate players for the draft to help balance teams.
Can I request a coach, teammate, or carpool?
No. Teams are formed automatically using player ratings to make teams as even as possible, so coach/teammate/carpool requests are not accepted. A practice-night/time request may be available for a small fee (discouraged unless necessary).
What equipment is required?
- Mouthpiece required for every player
- Mouthpieces are available on-site for $5.00 (while supplies last)
- Pocketless shorts are required, no skirts or pocketed shorts for safety reasons
- Rubber cleats are recommended
Are shorts included?
Shorts are not included with registration. You can purchase pocketless reversible shorts during registration (typically $19.95). Any add-on items bought during registration (shorts, socks, mouthpiece, etc.) ship with uniforms after teams are assigned so items match the NFL team colors.
Saturday Morning League – Gateway Charter
What is the Saturday Morning League?
The Saturday Morning League is a new Spring 2026 Gateway Flag Football option designed for families who prefer weekend games instead of Friday nights. Games are played on Saturday mornings at Gateway Charter High School, with one weekday practice per week.

Who is this league for?
This league is open to children ages 5-14. It is ideal for families with Friday night conflicts or those who prefer a Saturday morning game schedule. This location was added because we were at capacity at the Sherman Soccer Complex on practice nights.
When does the season start?
- Registration opens: February 2
- Registration closes: March 8
- First practice week: March 30

- First game: April 11
- No games Memorial Day weekend
- Playoffs: Week of May 29
- Championships: June 4
How much does it cost?
$129 for the first 75 registrations. Space is limited and may increase once the first 75 spots are filled.
Is this league different from the Friday Night League?
The rules, format, coaching standards, and emphasis on balanced teams are the same across both leagues. The key differences are:
- Game day: Saturday morning instead of Friday night
- Practice nights: Tuesday/Thursday instead of Monday/Wednesday
- Location: Gateway Charter instead of Sherman Soccer Complex
How are teams formed?
Teams are formed using the same evaluation, rating, and draft process used in the main league to keep teams as balanced as possible.
Can I choose my practice night or coach?
Practice nights are assigned but a practice night request can be made during registration.
What happens if a division fills up?
Once a division reaches capacity, registration for that division may close. Register early to secure a spot in the Saturday Morning League.
Will my child make a team?
Yes—all registered players make a team.

Registration is completed online through TeamLinkt using the Register Now button on the Gateway Flag Football website.

Shorts are not included with registration. You can purchase pocketless shorts during registration (typically $19.95). The jerseys for the Gateway Charter location DO include numbers and a name for no additional cost.
