CFL HIGH SCHOOL PASSING SHOWCASE

MARCH 16 & 17, 2024

EAST HANTS SPORTSPLEX

Overview:  This tournament will provide an opportunity to play football year-round. By eliminating contact, 7 on 8 is a valuable tool in the developmental process of skill position U Sport players. It is a safe and fun way to develop the physical and cognitive skills associated with the sport. The tournament will help sharpen individual skills on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, in preparation for the next  season. The focus is not squarely on skill development. The tournament provides the coaches an opportunity to execute their offensive and defensive schemes, while exposing their young players to a competitive environment. In addition, it will provide USport coaches the opportunity to evaluate and scout high school players.

Teams: Each team will consist of 24 (maximum) High School age players from the same school or Club. To be eligible to participate, a player must be in grade 10, 11, or 12 and be member of their high school or community team.  All community teams must be members of their Provincial Sport Organization. If a team does not have enough players at a certain position who meet the eligibility requirements, exceptions can be made to allow for younger players (grade 9), however this must be approved by the CFL in advance. Teams are required to submit a roster list to the CFL in advance of the tournament.

Tournament Structure:  There will be two (2) separate tournaments over the weekend. The first on March 16 and the second on March 17.  There are eight (8) spots available in each Tournament. Teams will only compete on the one day. At the end of each day a Champion will be named.
