About Our Leadership

"Leading with Passion: The Dedicated Team Behind Fairview Youth Athletic Association"

Fairview Youth Athletic Association

Fairview Youth Athletic Association is led by a dedicated group of parents, community advocates, and lifelong athletes who believe recreational sports should be exciting, organized, and impactful for both players and families. Our leadership team brings lived experience, creativity, and a shared commitment to restoring pride, structure, and opportunity within youth athletics.

Vee Whitaker

President

Vee Whitaker’s story in athletics began long before she ever stepped into a leadership role. A naturally gifted athlete, she spent her early years immersed in sports, competing in cheerleading, track, and softball. One of the most meaningful chapters of that journey took place at Hidden Valley, a park within the Fairview community—making her return to Fairview not just leadership, but a full-circle moment.

Vee attended Florida A&M University and Georgia State University, where she majored in Journalism and Communications. Before taking to the skies in aviation, she spent the majority of her professional career in the radio and television industry, learning how to tell stories, connect communities, and amplify voices. Those skills now serve as a cornerstone of her leadership—bringing clarity, transparency, and purpose to everything she does.

While building a successful career as a flight attendant, Vee’s passion for athletics never faded. That passion reignited when she and her husband returned to youth sports to support their children. What began as a parent’s involvement quickly evolved into leadership, as they helped cultivate a championship-winning baseball program in Henry County—proving that recreational sports can be both competitive and community-centered.

Known for her hands-on leadership and unwavering advocacy for players and parents, Vee brings energy, structure, and vision to Fairview Youth Athletic Association. Beyond the field, she is a wife, a mother of four, and a dedicated flight attendant, balancing family, career, and service with intention. As President, her mission is clear: to restore excitement, organization, and pride to recreational ball—and to make Fairview a place where kids love to play and families love to belong.

Keith Scales

Vice President

Keith Scales is a lifelong athlete whose leadership in youth sports was shaped on the field long before it became official. Growing up, he played recreational baseball from early childhood through his teenage years, gaining an appreciation for the impact sports can have on young athletes.

That impact became personal when his own children entered the world of youth sports. What began as supporting them from the stands quickly turned into hands-on involvement. Keith has been coaching at Fairview since 2021 and has also coached youth basketball in Henry County since 2022, allowing him to support athletes across different sports and age groups.

Keith’s experience working with both players and parents has strengthened his belief that recreational sports should be fun, structured, and centered on development. As Vice President, he brings a parent-first mindset and a commitment to fostering an environment where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and enjoy the game.
