What is it all about?
- It's a 2v2 man team National Table Tennis league for everyone of all standards!
What is the Costs?
- It will cost £60 per 2 man team to Enter (This money will be paid too and collected by the particular Local Super League a team is registered too) (Out of this £60, a £10 levy fee per team registered will be paid too England Local Super League for admin costs)
What is the format of Play?
- A host Super league can determine when the matches are played ie, evenings, weekends etc and over a 12 month period (depending on entry numbers venue availability and divisions allocated) giving flexibility.
A host Super League can also determine how many divisions they want to utilise with a maximum of 4 divisions being available (Prem) (Div1) (Div2) and (Junior Div)…..however if you only had say a one division structure it would have to be designated as one of the 4 options for divisions available and players would have to be of that standard to play in it….ie you can’t have 1 division with prem player teams and also have Div 2 player teams in the one division.
- Each division has to have a minimum of 12 x 2 man teams.
- Players/Teams are only allowed to register for one Host Super League….and not multiple ones!
- A match win will = 2 points and a match draw will = 1 point
- A game will consist of 5 sets as normal.
- There will be cash prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd places.(Depending on numbers and host super league costs)
Who Can Play?
- It will be open to all local league registered players.
- Players will only qualify to play if they are within a certain catchment area of where a particular super league venue is situated....this part will be determined by individual Host Super League organisers.
What is the long term goal?
- If enough host local super leagues set up and partner up over several regions.... an end of season National Finals event will be held where each division winner and runners up of a 2 man team Local Super League, will be invited to go head to head for the crown of their divisional group category....and again this event will also have cash prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd places.
Where would a National Finals Event be Held?
We are hopeful that the National Finals of England Local Super Leagues will be hosted at Ed Lynn’s Birmingham TT Academy, which is a fantastic facility for such an event!
Ed expressed that he would be very honoured to host the The first ever England National 2v2 team Super League event and went on to say, “I am always happy to support passionate and innovative people in whatever way I can, so that we can grow the sport together” I think this is a great idea and wish everyone involved success.
