We want to provide Christians an opportunity to use slo-pitch as a means to build community and friendships between fellow believers and be able to use it as a form of outreach to others, while participating in a great team sport environment and getting the benefits of exercise.
To achieve our goal we endeavor to:
- Glorify God in all we do, both on and off the field
- Encourage inter-denominational fellowship
- Connect with non-believers
- Provide a quality slo-pitch experience
OUR LEAGUE
- We initially started in north Edmonton in the early 1990’s and now have expanded throughout the city, St Albert and Sherwood Park.
- We are always looking for new teams but each team must be a part of a church or religious organization. We currently usually have 25+ teams every season.
- Each team needs a coach/representative to be the main contact person with the league and attend league meetings. They are the communication link between League Executive and the players on their team.
- Our league is an adult co-ed league and we play with a 7/3 male-female ratio on the field at all times.
- Our season typically starts in early May and we play through the summer until the end of August. Our games are played every Monday night at 7pm except for long weekends when we do not play.
- Games are played throughout the city of Edmonton on fields rented from the city. We try to schedule the home games for each team on a diamond that is near to the area of the city that their church is in.
We have a year-end tourney the last weekend of August and it is a Friday night to Sunday tourney. Games are played on fenced, shale diamonds with certified umpires.
We are a league where we try to include all levels of skill and keep up a positive attitude. Some teams are quite competitive and others haven’t played very much ball previously. We want everyone to come out, have fun and enjoy the fellowship with other believers and non-believers alike.
