Coach Reed played catcher and outfield for the Juneau-Douglas High School Crimson Bears’ baseball team, which, at that time, was considered the premier baseball program in Alaska by several ranking organizations . My name is Stan Minatogawa and I grew up in Mesa, AZ. I played sports growing up and still have a passion to play all the great games that sports have to offer. Out of all the sports, baseball was a game that I was able to excel in. I played high school baseball at Seton Catholic located in Chandler, AZ. I was a four-year starting shortstop, won two State Championships, 05’-06’ AIA 3A First Team All-State, and was awarded the 2006 3A All Star Game MVP.
Baseball was a game that I was able to play year-round and flourish in because of the great coaching I received as a youth to young adult. I was fortunate enough to receive instruction from college to professional athletes. Terry Kennedy, a four-time MLB All-Star, was a coach who could simplify instruction and incorporate fun into learning the great game of baseball. As a coach, I work hard to maintain those same principles.
I am a father of five and have been coaching my two oldest children over the last several years. My coaching experience has grown with my children. Sports are great games that young athletes should love to play. I look forward to coaching and aim to make learning fun, competitive, and proactive.
