About:
The Dummtronian Football Confederation is a statistically run league of 96 fantasy trampoline soccer teams. In the DFC there are three leagues, the lowest of the leagues being the Amateur League, the middle being the Minor League, and the premier being the National League. Within each league are four conferences, the conferneces form ladders where teams can move between the leagues based on how they perform in a season. The conference ladders national league to amateur league are: Islander, Ocean, Reef; Central, Brainless, Lake; Beach-Forest, Olympic, Athletic; and Northeastern, Cliffside, Transit. Teams in the Amateur and Minor Leagues can be promoted by winning thir conference, winning their conference tournament, or winning their league. Minor and National League teams will be relegated by finishing the worst in their conference and not winning a title. The number of teams promoted from the lower league to the higher league (maximum three) will be the same as teams relegated from the ligher league to the lower league.
History:
The DFC was originally named the DSL which was founded in 2017. There were three seasons of the DSL, only the second was completed and crowned an official champion. Rules, format, and ways to score changed every season making each season unique.
Season 1: Season 1 had only 50 teams and had five conferences with ten teams each. After ten games were played by all teams in the regular season, the season was deemed over and the only remaining undefeated team, the Bears (10-0), were named the unofficial champion.
Season 2: Season 2 had 75 teams with five conferences with fifteen teams each. Eighteen games were played in the regular season, conference tournaments were played, and then a twenty team playoff took place. The five conference champions were the Kidneys, Wasps, Astros, Chainsaws, and Sapphires. The Sapphires then went on to win the playoff, beating the Toasters in the final, to become the only official champion to date with a final record of 22-0-1 including playoff games.
Season 3: Season 3 had 80 teams and followed the same conference and division structure of the DFC, only with one less team in each division and many teams were in different divisions. Many teams also changed their names before the DFC started. Season 3 did not have any ties so all games went to overtime or shootouts if not decided in regular time. The regular season had fourteen games and the playoff included all 80 teams progressing from division, to conference, to the league finals. The playoff was too long to finish since it included full consolation and left one to two games not being played for each team. This season lasted for a year and a half before it was officially put to an end. The four conference champions, with their playoff records, were the Skydivers (18-0) for the IC, the Kidneys (18-0) for the CC, the Piranhas (17-1) BFC, and the Talons (17-1) for the NEC, with no unofficial champion named. The Skydivers were the offensive team of the year and the Talons were the defensive team of the year.
Season 0: The DFC is a statistically run league of 96 fantasy trampoline soccer teams. In the DFC there are two leagues of 48 teams, the Diplomatic and National leagues. Each league has two conferences of 24 teams; the Islander and Central conferences in the Diplomatic League, and the Beach-Forest and Northeastern in the National League. Each conference has four divisions of six teams, the North, West, South, and East divisions. Each of the 96 teams will play 36 games from January to May. The first six games in January are preseason games which are used to give an initial ranking of the teams. In the preseason, all members of one division will play all teams in a division in the other league. These games will not count toward overall record. In the regular season, teams will play 30 games. Teams will play a home and away game against each other member in their division for a total of ten games. Teams will play six games in their conference outside of their division; two from each other division. Eight non-conference league games will be played; two from each division. The remaining six games are played against all members of a division outside of their league, like the preseason. The standings at the end of the regular season determine the schedule for the teams next year. After the regular season ends, each division has a single elimination tournament seeded by overall record, with the winning team automatically qualifying for the 32-team playoff as a host team with a 1-4 seed. With the 16 division champions in the playoff, the remaining 16 qualify by ranking. The next four highest-ranking teams in each conference are given a berth in the playoff and are then seeded 5-8 by season record. The playoff is single elimination starting with the round of 32, or conference quarterfinals, followed by the conference semifinals and finals. The last four teams play their league championships and the league champions face off in the DFC championship. A third-place match is also played. Throughout the season, rankings are determined by a points system that uses match results and strength of schedule.
