The Croatia Cup is an annual soccer tournament spanning from April to July. It’s played primarily by Croatian soccer players and members of the teams they play on.
The purpose of the Croatia Cup is to unite the Croatian and local community through soccer. Many of the players disperse to different teams and leagues in the winter and reunite for the tournament in the spring and summer.
There are some distinct characteristics about the Croatia Cup:
It starts in the Spring.
It’s played on grass.
50% of the players must be Croatian.
Players enter individually and are then put on a random team.
Captains can trade players on their team.
Seasons usually last for 10 to 12 games with a playoff to follow.
Each division has its own Cup and every winner‘s name is inscribed on it.
Winning teams earn prizes and/or money.
The tournament is invite only.
