Bowlt Classic Tournament Rules
- FIBA Rules will apply for all games in the tournament.
- Ten-minute quarters.
- Overtime:
- Will begin with a jump ball.
- First team to score five points in the overtime period wins. This rule excludes the championship game which will have traditional 5 minute overtime periods until a winner is decided.
- Each team can carry over any remaining time outs from regulation.
- No additional time outs will be granted.
- Fouls and Bonus carry over.
- Five minutes warm up time will be guaranteed. Ten minutes will be granted if it can be accommodated.
- The first listed team on the Bowlt draw is considered the ‘home team’ and will wear white jerseys and will get choice of team bench.
Tie-breaking Criteria
Two Team Tie:
- Result of the game between the two tied teams, with the winner receiving the higher placing.
Three Team Tie:
- In the case of a three-way tie, the greatest points for/against between the three tied teams with the maximum point spread for any one game being capped at 25 points will be given awards priority ranking, second greatest points for/against will be given the secondary ranking.
- If a tie exists between two teams after using the points for and against criteria, the winner of the game played by the two teams involved (head-to-head match-up) will be given priority ranking.
- If a three-way tie persists, number draw criteria will be used. The numbers one, two, and three are written on individual pieces of paper and placed in a container by a neutral third party. Each coach then draws a piece of paper from the container. The team that draws the number 1 receives the priority ranking. The team that draws the number 2 receives the secondary ranking. The team that draws the number 3 receives the third ranking.
