2025 BW Flag Football (boys OU10, OU12, OU12, OU14, OU16, girls GU12, GU14, GU16, GU20, OU06 (coed), OU08 (coed))
NCAFA flag football has grown immensely in the last few years. We are trying to offer more games and tournaments in addition to our " spring regular season". NCAFA and the Bell Warriors will continually keep coaches and parents abreast of these opportunities. Check here and ncafa.ca.
The BW Flag program (spring) starts in early April at Minto field (Nepean Sportsplex, outside) on Saturdays and Sundays, 9 am - 1 pm, younger groups first, older groups later. The focus is on skill development . As April winds down team formation and team development takes on greater importance. The Minto field sessions continue at most until mid-May.
This year BW Flag has the Twin Elm Rugby Park as its base of operations. Lots of space, good fields, washrooms, locker rooms and much more. As the grass fields at this location become available, all Saturday and Sunday sessions will shift here and weeknight sessions will become possible. Coaches will decide if a team will utilize weeknights. The 10 game regular season runs from May 24 - June 22. Boys OU12, OU14 and OU10 (coed) will play on Saturdays and Girls GU12, GU14, GU16 and GU20 will play on Sundays. Boys OU16 and OU19 traditionally have played on Saturdays but may be shifted to another day of the week. NCAFA is deciding this very soon.
As the regular season nears the practices shift to weeknights at Twin Elm. In general the default night for practices was Tuesday and Thursday. Some coaches shifted practices based on coach or player availability. In the registration process all players will be asked about availability and this will help make the most compatible teams.
Fees are $200 for the April - June season. Participants buy their uniform (approx. $60) and they use from year to year until they outgrow it. All Bell teams have the same uniform. Football Canada/Football Ontario charge $22.5 for participation. On turf regular running shoes, soccer cleats and football cleats are acceptable. On grass soccer cleats are good while football cleats are best. When games begin mouthguards are mandatory. Inexpensive mouthguards are provided free of charge for those that want one.
Organisation and planning is becoming more and more important as flag football grows. This means we need registration, coach selection, team formation and team planning need to occur sooner. Registration will begin by February 1. Register sooner than later.
Finding coaches and managers is the most important step in running our program. We can't form teams until we have coaches. Please email rodmoors12@gmail.com if you are interested. We offer extensive coach and manager training.
OU08 (coed) OU06 (coed)
BW also has a OU08 (coed) and OU06 (coed) program ready to go. In the past two years there have been some registrations but not enough to run a program. We are ready to go if we can get 10 registrants in a division. BW has set both of these registrations as free other than paying Football Canada fees. There will be a fee once we have enough registrants. The fee would be $100 and cost of a uniform ($60). These programs are internal programs that focus on fundamental football movements, development and informal games. The program would run on one weeknight and one weekend day.

Weather Policy: The Director of Bell Warriors Flag Football (Rod Moors) will always attend practice sessions, rain or shine. I cancel them rarely and if I do everyone will receive an email notification and it will be posted here as well. A coach may cancel practice for his/her team and communicate this directly to his/her team. Parents decide if it is appropriate for their children to attend practice because of weather concerns. There are no repercussions from not attending a practice due to weather concerns. If a player attends practice then it is my job (and the coach's) to ensure a safe environment for the player (heat, humidity, cold, lightning etc.). All of these issues will be taken seriously and dealt with properly.
