I have always had a passion for sports and over my time with AYS I have developed a passion for helping the youth of our community, not only learn to play the game, but to be that teammate that everyone wants to be around and to teach the life lessons that we learn from sports that the youth will use throughout the many aspects of life."

3. Adam Wilmouth - 2nd Vice President

I am Adam Wilmouth and I have called Appomattox County home since I moved here at the age of 11 years old. I currently reside in Spout Spring with my wife (Lori), and our two daughters. I became involved with Appomattox Youth Sports when my oldest daughter Brianna (18) started playing softball. It was then that I knew that I wanted to be a part of this organization not just for my daughter, but for all the youth in Appomattox County. I began coaching softball and umpiring 12 years ago. I have been apart of the AYS board for 6 years serving as general board member and recently was elected 2nd Vice President. As a coach, umpire, parent, board and community member I have developed a passion for ensuring the youth in our community always have the opportunity to be involved in our sports programs not just for the game, but for the impact and life lessons they will learn along the way.

The AYS Board is committed to the betterment of youth sports in Appomattox County and I thank everyone who supports and allows us to serve the athletes in our community!

Sports Commissioners
Baseball Commissioner - Bryan Ferguson
Cheerleader Commissioner - Diamond Lawing
Softball Commissioner - Cheyenne Chandler

Wrestling Commissioner - Vincent Mayberry

I am Vincent Mayberry, I am an Area Construction Engineer at VDOT. I live in Appomattox with my wife Kimberli and our three children, Bentley, Charli, and Indi. I began wrestling when attending highschool at Rustburg and looking back wished I had started at a younger age. When I returned to the area from Virginia Tech, I began coaching youth wrestling at Rustburg in my free time. Once my son was old enough to begin wrestling, the youth program in the Appomattox community had been dormant for several years and I decided to change that. We reignited the program in 2021 and we have experienced tremendous growth in a short amount of time. I am surrounded by an outstanding group of men/husbands/fathers who all assist in making our program one of a kind. I couldn’t ask for a better team of role models for our team. We serve kindergarten through 8th grade boys and girls who want to learn great character traits like discipline, self-control, independence, accountability, hard work, respect, and perseverance.

These exceptional individuals, along with our dedicated coaches and volunteers, form the backbone of Appomattox Youth Sports. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each board member and sports commissioner for their unwavering commitment to providing a positive sports experience for our youth.
