INTRO TO COACH ~after completion of the Respect in Sport 12 online modules, participants will register in a clinic that has 1.5 hrs classroom and 1.5 hrs on-ice.


COACH LEVEL ~ after completion of the Respect in Sport 12 online modules (if not already done), participants will register in a clinic that has 1.5 hrs classroom and 1.5 hrs on-ice.  Participants will receive a TRAINED status until the online Making Ethical Decisions (MED) evaluations where they will receive a CERTIFIED status (trained status is acceptable but certified status is better).

BODY CHECKING ~ 1.5 hrs classroom, 1.5 hrs on-ice
NEW** Novice and Atom coaches can get Bodychecking certification online

GOALIE COACH ~ 1.5 hrs classroom, 1.5 hrs on-ice

SAFETY ~ complete the 18 online modules; to become a Level 2 Safety, participants must complete a recognized Standard First Aid CPR course (or show proof) or be a recognized medical professional.

RESPECT IN SPORT (SPEAK OUT) ~ 3 hrs of online modules (SHA LINK TO RESPECT IN SPORT)
 

SHA Coaching Requirements

Initiation

Head coaches – must have Coach 1 - Intro & Respect in Sport
Assistant coaches - must have Coach 1 - Intro & Respect in Sport
Manager, Trainer, Volunteer, Stick boy – must have Respect in Sport
Hockey Canada Safety Program (HCSP Level 1 or HU SAFETY) – 1 of the registered team officials (manager, coach, trainer or volunteer.) must have this certification #8.01.01.e)

Novice

Head Coaches – must have Coach 1 Intro or Coach 2 Level, Respect in Sport & Checking
Assistant Coaches - must have Coach 1 Intro or Coach 2 Level & Respect in Sport
Manager, Trainer, Volunteer, Stick Boy – must have Respect in Sport
Goalie Coach Certification – must have 1 registered coach with this certification; must have Coach 1 Intro or Coach 2 Level, Respect in Sport & Goaltending 1.
Checking (HU ONLINE CHECKING or Checking Skills 1) – the head coach must have, #8.01.01.g)
Hockey Canada Safety (HCSP Level 1 or HU SAFETY) – 1 of the registered team officials with this, (manager, coach, trainer or volunteer.) #8.01.01.e)

Atom

Head coaches – must have Coach 2 Level, Respect in Sport & Checking
Assistant coaches – must have Coach 2 Level & Respect in Sport
Manager, Trainer, Volunteer, Stick boy – must have Respect in Sport
Goalie Coach Certification– must have 1 registered coach with this certification; must have Coach 2 Level, Respect in Sport & Goaltending 1.
Checking certification (HU ONLINE CHECKING or Checking Skills 1) – the head coach must have, #8.01.01.g)

PEE WEE A, B, C, D (male & female teams)

Head coaches – must have Coach 2 Level, Respect in Sport & Checking

Manager, Trainer, Volunteer, Stick boy – must have Respect in Sport
Goalie Coach Certification - must have 1 registered coach with this certification, must have Coach 2 Level, Respect in Sport & Goaltending 1.
