Saskatchewan Youth Basketball

If you love basketball, help create that passion in kids and watch them grow and develop over the season.

Saskatchewan Youth Basketball offers the JR NBA program a grassroots initiative designed to develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship and a love for the game of basketball. It supports and empowers community-based recreational groups and facilities, schools and other institutions to positively influence youth through basketball. The goal is to allow participants to maximize their potential, while promoting the importance of youth basketball as a means to build character, discipline and self-esteem.

The program consists of approximately 10 – 12 practices in each community some time between January and May followed by a tournament near in April or May for grades 3 - 6.  Dates will vary for each area and are available on the tournament page.

Our goal is to develop fundamental skills so practice plans focus on the skills appropriate for the age group and tournament rules support the best development opportunities for young participants. For example, the grade 3 & 4 play 3 on 3 and grade 5 & 6 play 4 on 4.

The JR NBA program is supported by Canada Basketball and the NBA. For complete details, visit Canada Basketball.
