September 5, 2026 marks a significant milestone for the Kingston Grenadiers Football Club as our U12 team takes the field for its first-ever Ontario Fall Football League (OFFL) game.
This Saturday, the Grenadiers will travel to Oshawa to open their fall season and begin a new chapter in the growth of our organization. While it may be just one game on the schedule, it represents months of hard work, dedication, and commitment from our athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families.
The launch of the U12 program this past spring, and now competing in the fall have been major goals for the Grenadiers as we continue to expand opportunities for young athletes in the Kingston area. This team represents the future of our organization and demonstrates the growing interest in football throughout our community.
Since the start of training camp, our players have embraced every challenge put in front of them. They have learned new skills, built lasting friendships, and developed the teamwork and confidence that football helps instill. The progress this group has made over the past short while has been nothing short of remarkable.
Our coaching staff has worked tirelessly to prepare the team for this moment, focusing not only on football fundamentals but also on sportsmanship, discipline, and creating a positive experience for every athlete. Thank you Chad, Kosta, Neil and Nikolas, their dedication has helped establish a strong foundation for the program's future success.
We would also like to recognize the incredible support of our parents, volunteers, sponsors, and community members. Building a new team takes a collective effort, and this milestone would not have been possible without the support of so many people behind the scenes.
As our players suit up in Grenadiers colours and represent Kingston on the road this weekend, we couldn't be more proud of everything they have accomplished already. Regardless of the outcome on the scoreboard, this game is a celebration of hard work, perseverance, and the continued growth of football in our community.
