West Ottawa Basketball 2026–27 recreational Program

The West Ottawa Stingers Recreational Program provides a fun, welcoming and inclusive basketball experience for players of all skill levels. Whether your player is picking up a basketball for the first time or has been playing for years, our program is designed to help players learn, develop and enjoy the game in a positive team environment.

Our recreational program focuses on skill development, teamwork, confidence and having fun, while giving players the opportunity to build friendships and be part of a team. We want every player to feel comfortable on the court, supported by their teammates and excited to come back each week.

The Stingers Recreational Program serves players from U7 through U19 and offers age-appropriate basketball experiences as players progress through the program.

🏀 Small Ball Stingers – U7 & U8: Our youngest players participate in the Small Ball Stingers program, which introduces them to the fundamentals of basketball through weekly sessions focused on learning, movement, skill development and fun.

🏀 Recreational Stingers – U10 to U19: Beginning at U10, players participate in our traditional recreational basketball program, combining weekly team practices with weekend league games through the West Ottawa Basketball Recreational League.

teams

West Ottawa Stingers recreational teams are formed with parity in mind. Our goal is to create balanced teams so that players have the opportunity to develop, contribute, and enjoy a competitive and positive experience regardless of which team they are placed on.

The West Ottawa Basketball Association uses a combination of available player information, coach input, and parent information to help balance teams each season.

Because team balancing is an important part of providing a positive recreational experience for all players, team rosters cannot be changed once they have been finalized.

Players can expect to receive information about their team and coach before the season begins in October.
