Curvilinear sprint challenge

The Curvilinear Sprint Challenge is a speed and agility drill designed to improve a lacrosse player’s ability to accelerate, decelerate, and change direction while maintaining control on a curved path. Instead of running straight lines, athletes sprint along a marked arc or “banana” route, forcing them to lean into turns, adjust stride patterns, and use proper body positioning.

Players complete multiple reps in each direction (clockwise and counterclockwise) to train balance and symmetry. The drill enhances game-relevant movement, such as rounding a defender, cutting to the crease, or chasing a loose ball, by building the strength, coordination, and reaction speed needed for curved runs.
