SYBSA Field Maintenance

Injuries can happen during a collision at home between a fielder and a runner or sometimes on the bases.

Please review these videos and begin practicing lots of game scenarios on the field. We ask that you practice runners in motion and working with your fielders on where they need to be when attempting to tag a base (or player).  Similarly, we need to show our players how to safely slide and/or avoid fielders.  Two videos that show some great examples of how fielders can practice their positioning are below as well as a video going over sliding:

Managing Game & Practice RSVPs

Game and practice reminders are automatically sent to parents (as long as they have not disabled emails from SYBSA). If parents simply click on the "Yes, I can make it" or "No, I cannot make it" button, their response is recorded in the system.

Viewing Game RSVPs

To view the RSVPs for a game do the following:

1. Log in using the "Sign in" link in the upper right hand corner of the page

2. Select your team as outlined in Step 3 in How to Email Your Team

3. Select "Schedule" from the menu pages at the left

4. Click on the "thumbs up" icon next to the game of interest to view RSVPs for that game

Sending Out Requests for RSVPs

Reminders are automatically sent out but if you'd like to force the system to send out another reminder to parents who haven't yet responded you can do this as follows:

1. View the RSVPs for the game of interest as outlined above

2. To send RSVP requests to players who have not yet responded, click on the "mail" icon in the orange "No response" column

Coaches - How to Enter Game Results

1. Log in using the "Sign in" link in the upper right hand corner of the page

2. Select your team as outlined in Step 3 in How to Email Your Team

3. Select "Results" from the menu pages at the left

4. On the team results page, find the game you wish to edit and click on the "Edit" icon to the right of the game 

5. Enter score or any additional result changes and optionally, game commentary

6. Click submit to confirm changes.

 
How to Enter Pitch Counts

1. Log in using the "Sign in" link in the upper right hand corner of the page

2. Select your team as outlined in Step 3 in "How to Email Your Team"

3. Select "Results" from the menu pages at the left

4. On the team results page, find the game you wish to edit and click on the "Edit Game Statistics" icon to the right of the game  

5. After clicking the icon, you will be presented with a spreadsheet with all players and input fields for all statistical categories across the page. At the top of the page will be tabs for different positions (pitching, hitting, etc.)

6. Click to make sure you are on the pitching tab.

7. Check the "ATN" box for all players who pitched in the game.  Then enter the total number of pitches thrown.

8 Click "Submit" to confirm changes

Coaches - How to Email Your Team

1. Go to www.sybsa.org

2. Log in using the "Sign in" link on the upper right hand corner of the page

3. Navigate to your team web page by using the Team Schedules and Rosters menu at the top of the page to navigate to your team.  For example, Choose a Team > Baseball > American League > Orioles

4. From the left hand menus click on "Roster"

5. Use the "Options" link on the top right side of the page and select "Email Team"

6. Fill out the form and submit it to send a message to your team members
