Chekinah Mbangu brings a strong background as both a player and coach to Ottawa Elite. A former student-athlete with the La Cité Coyotes, Chek competed for two seasons in the OCAA, earning recognition as a Second Team All-Star in 2023.

Following Chek's playing career, he transitioned into coaching and quickly made an impact. In his first season on the sideline, Chek helped guide Ottawa Elite to an EOBA Championship, showcasing a commitment to player development, team culture, and competitive excellence.
With first-hand experience at the post-secondary level, Chek brings valuable insight into what it takes to compete beyond high school and is passionate about preparing athletes for the next stage of their basketball journey.
