(THSBA) Tournaments: The annual student membership fee is $65 per student, and the standard open tournament entry fee is $65 per team.
As a fishing club, we do not hold regularly scheduled practices or weekly team meetings. Anglers are responsible for practicing on their own based on their individual schedules, availability, and upcoming tournaments.
Throughout the season, we typically host a couple of team events, including a lure-making workshop and a year-end team celebration. Team members may also gather after tournaments to visit, share results, and connect with other anglers and families. At some tournaments, we may set up a team tent with refreshments, but this is not available at every event.
Anglers must participate in at least one of the four qualifying tournaments offered through the tournament trail for their grade level:
FAN: Open to anglers in grades 6–12
THSBA: Open to anglers in grades 9–12
High School Anglers (Grades 9–12): May compete in FAN, THSBA, or both tournament trails. Participation in both is optional and is based on the angler's schedule and preference.
Our goal is to keep participation flexible so anglers and families can enjoy competitive fishing while balancing school, other sports, activities, and family schedules.
The Texas High School Bass Association (THSBA) and the Fishing Anglers Network (FAN) are two separate tournament trails available to Lake Travis Fishing Team anglers. For Highschoolers, participation in either trail — or both — is completely up to each angler and their boat captain.
Both organizations host tournaments on many of the same Central Texas lakes and operate in a very similar format. Each trail releases its own tournament schedule prior to the season, and in most cases, anglers are able to participate in both trails if they choose. Tournament dates are typically scheduled on different weekends, making it very manageable for teams wanting additional opportunities to compete throughout the season.
Both THSBA and the FAN Trail host tournaments on the Highland Lakes and lakes in the surrounding central Texas area.
Lake Travis High School is in the Hill Country Division.
