Jays Erupt for Eight in Sixth to Pull Away from Bandits, 11–4

The Calgary Jays turned a one-run game into a decisive victory with an explosive eight-run sixth inning, pulling away from the Calgary Bandits for an 11–4 win Saturday at Diamond 1.
Calgary entered the sixth holding a narrow advantage before sending a wave of runners across the plate on six hits. Jonah Jerry and Brandon Doering each delivered RBI singles, while Nevin Wilson drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home another run.
Then came the biggest swing of the afternoon.
With the bases loaded, Matthew Dawson drove a triple into the gap, clearing the bases and pushing three runs across as the Jays broke the game wide open. James Dunphy followed with an RBI groundout before Paul Hickey added another run-scoring triple to complete the eight-run outburst and give Calgary an 11–4 advantage.
The Jays had opened the scoring in the first when Dunphy doubled home a run, but the Bandits answered in the bottom of the second. Neil Ruddock delivered a three-run double to put Calgary Bandits ahead 3–1.
The Jays gradually worked their way back.
Dean Smith and Wilson each launched solo home runs as Calgary reclaimed the lead before the decisive sixth-inning rally.
Dwayne Singer went the distance in the circle for the Jays, allowing four runs on eight hits over six innings while striking out seven and walking five.
The Calgary offense finished with 14 hits, led by Dawson's 3-for-4 performance with three RBIs. Smith, Doering and Hickey also recorded multiple hits, while the Jays drew four walks and stole three bases.
Defensively, Calgary played a clean game without committing an error.
For the Bandits, Jeremy Crawford, Alex Clark and Josh Cinnamon each collected two hits. Ruddock drove in three of Bandit's four runs, while Earl Hauser reached twice via walk as part of a five-walk effort by the Bandits.
Rob Reid started in the circle for Calgary Bandits and worked into the sixth inning before the Jays' late offensive surge put the game out of reach.
What had been a tightly contested matchup through five innings was ultimately decided in one overwhelming frame, as the Jays' eight-run sixth transformed a close game into an 11–4 victory.
