Early on Beckett Malmberg and Lincoln Watts traded opening strikes, and the Americans pushed ahead with Kanon Short and Lincoln Watts adding key goals before the Mustangs answered late in the second and poured on three third-period goals from Maxon Jones and Grant Petersen to force extra time. The game included some penalties, and in overtime Kanon Short finished it off for Tri-Cities to seal the win. Both teams showcased competitive fire and memorable moments in a lively contest.
