Calgary Royals Gold edged the North Island Bears 3-2 in an exciting finish. Caleb Botelho opened the scoring in the second period, while London McDonald answered for the Bears with help from Oslo Gornall and Chris Heidema. Calgary pulled ahead in the third as Cole Fredricksen scored twice and Simon Schwonik added another, but Oslo Gornall’s late goal kept North Island within striking distance. The game included some penalties, and both teams battled hard through the final whistle in a spirited contest.
