The Vikings struck early with Noah Van Dalfsen and Wyatt Holmberg trading goals in the first period, and Holmberg added another in the second as the visitors built a multi-goal lead while Lucas Van Dalfsen and Sophie Till tacked on third-period insurance. Danny Labrecque responded for Edson with a first-period goal and both goalies—Leah Warren for Shewood Park and Zachary Boyce for Edson—turned away numerous shots to keep the action tense.
