In a stunning display the Greenpoint Possums triumphed over the Bad News Beers in a decisive doubleheader this week, maintaining their undefeated streak in the East Village Softball Association. The Possums showcased a blend of strong pitching and aggressive batting, leaving the Beers struggling to keep pace.

Game one saw the Possums jump to an early lead, winning 11-2  the Possums secured a convincing victory. The second game proved to be more challenging for the Possums, as the Beers kept it close but were defeated 7-6,  

This sweep not only solidifies the Possums' position at the top of the league but also demonstrates their potential as serious contenders for the championship this season. Fans are eager to see how the Possums will build on this momentum in their upcoming games. 

The Possums have a bye week and then their season they will be a tasked with playing the 2025 Summer Champion Noisy Foxes, followed by the 2025 Fall Champion Wombats and the ending the season against the 2024 Summer Champion Libarians.  That stretch will really test the Possums metal and see if they are the real deal.
