UPCOMING DEADLINES & KEY REMINDERS

It is that point in the season where we are rapidly approaching some key deadline dates for all teams.  Let's list the upcoming deadlines in chronological order:

1. NOVEMBER 20: Criminal Record Checks - due to your Zone's CRC collector by November 20, 2025 from all registered team officials. Team officials who do not submit their completed CRC to their home zone by November 20th will be ineligible to be on the bench or on the ice until they do submit their CRC.

2. DECEMBER 1ST: Player Affiliation - Teams are required to submit their initial Affiliation (AP) Form by December 1st to the SMHA office.  Teams then have until January 8th to add affiliate players to their team.  Be sure that your team ASKS the player to affiliate before getting their coach to sign off on the AP form.  Affiliate players CANNOT be removed from a roster and players can only be affiliated to one team - b sure they want to affiliate with you.

3. DECEMBER 15TH: Removing a team official from your roster - if you have a registered team official (assistant coach, on-ice volunteer) that is no longer interested or able to help, they can be removed from your roster on the HCR.  If removed by December 15th, they will not be required and held to completing their coach certifications by December 20th.

4. DECEMBER 20TH: Coach certification deadline - All certifications must be obtained by December 20th.  Hockey Saskatchewan / SMHA will fine any team officials / teams $100 for not having all required certifications.  With all courses now online and with no charge to take them, there is no reason that all SMHA team officials should not all have their required courses.

5. DECEMBER 20TH: CONNECT SPORT DEADLINE - All SMHA teams from U13-U18 (all levels of play from AA-C, male and female teams) must have one (1) registered team official that has completed the Connect Sport Mental Health course for Coaches.  A team official who took the course in 2024-25, is good to go for this season and does not need to take the course again. Teams that do not complete this requirement will be fined $100 just like any missing certification.

6. SMHA PROVINCIAL PLAYDOWNS - January & February 2026 - SMHA has provincial playdowns in the U13 - U18 age groups.  Click here for the formats and schedules.  Note that Provincial Playdowns dates will not be changed for contending teams to participate in tournaments or exhibition games.  Plan ahead.

Thank you for your attention to the above!
