CONNECT SPORT - MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING FOR COACHES:
All SMHA teams in U13-U18 are required to have one registered team official (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, On-Ice Volunteer) that has completed the Connect Sport Mental Health Training Program online course for Coaches. If a registered team official took the online course last year, he or she is good to go for this season and does not need to retake the Connect Sport online course. The requirement to have a registered team official with Connect Sport is treated the same way as any Coach Certifications. This requirement must be completed by December 20th or the team will receive a $100 fine. This is a mandatory requirement.
The course is really well done and should take 45-60 minutes to complete. There is no cost to the person taking Connect Sport for Coaches- see the Promo Code below. SMHA is covering the cost of the course.

SMHA is excited to partner with Connect Sport again in 2025-26 to bring Mental Health Literacy and training to our teams.
To enrol in your coach course, go to the website: connectsport.ca.
Click "login" to create a new account.
Proceed through the login process to create your account and enrol in the course.
You will be prompted to select payment type through Stripe gateway please press "Proceed"
When prompted for your credit card number please press "Add code" directly under CA $20.00 and enter the promotion code: SK2025 (You will not need to enter any Credit Card or personal details)
Once the verification process is complete you can access the course dashboard.
The course will be available until December 20, 2025.
