SEVERAL SARNIA STURGEON CHOSEN TO PARTICIPATE IN PROVINCIAL EVALUATION EVENT
Five members of the Sarnia Sturgeon football organization are heading to London next month to participate in a Football Ontario evalulation camp with an eye on a bigger prize this summer.
Receivers Jarred Esterhuizen and Tyler Hopwood along with offensive lineman Gage Klyne will take part in the U18 camp while offensive lineman Mason Mackenzie and receiver Omar Dajani will be evaluated at the U16 level at the Red-Black weekend at the University of Western Ontario on May 14 and 15.
Those chosen from the U16 camp will advance to the Eastern Regional Challenge in New Brunswick in July while the successful players from the U18 camp will move on to represent Ontario at the Canada Cup in Kelowna, B.C., also in July.
The London event next month will be attended by postsecondary and junior football coaches from across the country.
