Looking forward to the 2023 season!

Hello to all coaches and parents from 2022. Yes it’s November and we just got over Halloween and Christmas is coming but January 1, 2023 is not that far away.

This season, we hope to see an increase in parent participation. I remember last season watching a U11 practice and it seemed that there were as many parents on the field as players – this is where we need to be in the younger ages for sure. Many of those parents appeared to be past ball players with their skill set in dealing with the kids. We need to see that with all ages where your participation allows the coach to concentrate on other parts of the game.

Besides assisting at the practice level, we need parents to help at fundraising activities, tournaments etc. as we move to be more visible in the community. A few ideas for this year are raffles, hot dog sales at malls, and dropping off bottles to our bottle depot account, and of course, your suggestions. Ideally, we would ask every parent/family to donate at least 10 hours of volunteer time towards making the season a success through the above-noted activities.

We are seeking new Board members to join our dedicated team. Volunteers are always needed as they bring their experience to meetings and are responsive to the necessities of running a club and good at organizing volunteers for activities, field maintenance such as lining fields, and coordinating umpires.

After two years of making our way through COVID, we had a very successful 2022 season. Some teams throughout the province didn’t play at all in those two years so we should be happy with our success. All families/coaches/assistant coaches from last year are receiving this email. Please think about these ideas and we’ll see you (through your signing up) in January.
