OOHA Registration Opens Soon –

Celebrating 15 Seasons of Community Hockey

OAKBANK, MB – The Oakbank Oldtimers Hockey Association (OOHA) is gearing up for a milestone year. Entering its 15th season, the league has officially incorporated as OOHA Inc., a non-profit organization, marking a new chapter in its proud history of community hockey.

New Leadership Team

To guide this transition, OOHA has established a structured Board of Directors:

  • Commissioner: Gerald “Boomer” Palidwor

  • Assistant Commissioner: Cary Brosch

  • Chief of Finance: Buddy Guay

  • Chief of Hockey Operations: Kevin Maslechko

  • Chief of Administration & Communications: Stacey Bartel

The Board will oversee all OOHA leagues, tournaments, and events. Supporting them, each division will form a committee of Captains and team representatives, ensuring that every player has a voice in how their division is run.

Registration to Open Soon

The most pressing update for players: registration is set to open any day now, pending final paperwork.

Dates to Note:

  • Early Bird Deadline: Register before Sept 17 @ 5:00 CST and OOHA will cover the equivalent of GST on your registration fees — a savings of $23.75.

  • Registration Close: Sept 29, 2025 @ Midnight

  • Season Start: Week of Oct 12, 2025

This registration window will determine how many teams are formed and allow the league to build its schedule. Players are strongly encouraged to register early.

“Getting everyone signed up early is key,” said Assistant Commissioner Cary Brosch. “It helps us finalize team counts and make sure the season starts smoothly.”

Call to the Community

The Board is asking all players to help spread the word. Invite teammates, friends, and newcomers to Oakbank who may want to lace up this season.

OOHA is also looking for Captains and volunteers to step up for the year. Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Cary Brosch directly.

Keeping it Canadian

This season, OOHA will be moving away from Team Snap and introducing TeamLinkt, an app created and operated in Western Canada.

Chief of Admin & Communications, Stacey Bartel commented: “We’re excited to bring TeamLinkt onboard and support a Canadian-made solution while playing Canada’s greatest game,”

Looking Ahead

Players can expect continued improvements in how the league operates, including updates to the registration process, team apps, and website to make communication easier and more effective.
