Privacy Statement

 

During the registration process MSL will capture personal identifiable information for all players. MSL recognise the importance of protecting the privacy under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act), the Sport Integrity Australia Act and the Sports Integrity Australia Regulations, and the rights of individuals in relation to their personal information. The MSL privacy policy outlines how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information. By registering for and participating in this season players need to acknowledge and accept the MSL privacy statement.

MSL do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. We take all reasonable steps to limit the personal data collected, processed, and stored for running of the MSL season and events. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential

Registering for the MSL Season requires a TeamLinkt account. To create a TeamLinkt Account some personal identifiable information will be captured and held by TeamLinkt. MSL uses TeamLinkt as a third party supplier to help manage the MSL season. Thie privacy statement can be found at: https://teamlinkt.com/legal/privacy-policy. We store  your information in TeamLinkt’s systems and they use industry standard  security precautions to protect it.

 

Your consent

By registering with the MSL or submitting personal data through our Services, you expressly consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. We will process your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws. When you register with us, you are required to consent to our Privacy Policy; refer to our terms and conditions.  This consent provides us with a legal basis under applicable law to process your personal data. You maintain all rights under applicable law to withdraw your consent at any time and to have your personal data erased.

 

Data retention

We will retain your data for a long as needed to run and manage the MSL. This includes the maintenance of historical MSL records and game details, disciplinary information, and registration and attendance details.

 

Data Deletion

If you wish to have your personal data deleted please contact the MSL Committee. The committee will take all necessary, and reasonable steps to remove your personal data.

 

Data processed when you join the MSL:

• When you set up a TeamLinkt Account, we and TeamLinkt on our behalf, store information you give us like your name, email address, and telephone number.
• When you use MSL social sites (like facebook and Instagram) and use their services to do things like write a message or comment on a video or post those services store the information you create. Please be aware of their priovacy policies.
• MSL will not share your data with any third party unless specifically required for the running of the MSL competition and game day activities.

Data the MSL captures includes:

• Your name, DOB, contact phone and email.
• Your chosen team, your game day participation, game records including goals scored and card received.
• You next of kin and certain medical details.
• Details of the products and services you have purchased from us.

 

Why we process Data

We process this data to run the MSL season, event or game and including to:

• To met participation requirements for the league and events
• To track player and participant details including attendance
• To help our team deliver a more useful, relevant experience to teams
• Improve the quality of our services and develop new ones
• To conduct reviews to understand how our Leagues and Events are used and the engagement as part of a continuous improvement approach.
• We also have partners (i.e. TeamLinkt) that may measure how the services are used.

 

Marketing and Ad Personalization

We do not use personal data for any Marketing or other promotional reasons other than your image captured in photo and video content that may be shared on social media and other sites. All players consent to their image being captured and used in promotional material for the MSL.

 

How do we collect and hold your personal information?

We collect your personal information directly from you unless it is unreasonable or impracticable to do so. Collection is primarily done through the registration process. When collecting personal information from you, we may also collect in ways including:

• during conversations between you and our representatives;
• when you complete a survey;
• when you complete a purchase from the MSL;
• when you interact with the MSL through social media platforms;
• through video and photo recording of MSL events and games.

Personal information which we collect is stored by us and by third party service providers which provide registration services to us. Otherwise, we do not share any information.

 

What happens if we can’t collect your personal information?

If you do not provide us with the personal information required to run the MSL season, event or game, and you cannot satisfy eligibility requirements you will not be able to participate in the season, event or game.

 

For what purposes do we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information?

MSL collects your personal information to plan and coordinate MSL seasons, events, or games. MSL collects details to track attendance and to manage the league including disciplinary actions.

 

To whom may we disclose your information?

Following the registration process and as part of managing the season your personal data will be displayed on the MSL website (delivered via TeamLinkt) to help with participation tracking, team management and other aspects of the season.

We share your data with no other entity or third party. Where required by law we will share any information that we collect with relevant bodies. Refer to TeamLinkt’s privacy policy (our third-party registration provider) for information on their data sharing.
