The blueprint for the FBF27 campaign officially came to life on Friday, 4th September 2026, as FaithWorx Sports in partnership with the University of Botswana, Relics Basketball Club, hosted the FBF27 Draft. Franchise captains across both the Men’s and Ladies’ divisions executed their strategic selections, locking in 88 athletes to establish the foundation for Fastbreak Friday’s evolution into a high-production sports-entertainment property.

Guided by the league mantra—Built on Campus. Played Like Pros.—the FBF27 season transitions traditional campus basketball into a structured weekly media event, blending  professional broadcast execution with vibrant local culture.

The Top Selections: Anchoring the Franchises

The Men's Division selections reflect a blend of explosive wing scoring, lockdown defense, and elite floor generalship needed to sustain high-tempo transition play.

• Tlotlo Tshekega (Shooting Guard) | Red Raptors: Drafted first by the Raptors to anchor a hyper-aggressive backcourt. Tshekega brings lethal perimeter shooting and fast-break finishing capability, giving the Raptors an explosive scoring punch on the wing. Raptors assembled a heavy scoring backcourt featuring Topo Morolong, Nhlanhla Mdluli, Teddy Akanyang, and point guards Atang Moagi and Letso Molefe.

• Lone Busang (Small Forward) | Blue Raiders: Selected #1 overall by the Raiders to serve as a dynamic two-way wing. Busang provides positional length, baseline slashability, and defensive versatility to guard multiple positions across the floor. With point guard Atang Motsumi, the Raiders added backcourt playmakers Oteng Kesenogile, Zawadi Madiabaso, Kevin Zikhali, and Shawn Rusike, backed by perimeter wing depth including Kaylor Monare and power forward Alex Mpofu.

• Maatla Tshwenyego (Small Forward) | White Rovers: Drafted as the centerpiece wing playmaker for the Rovers. Tshwenyego brings exceptional court vision from the forward spot, orchestrating half-court sets and crashing the glass to initiate fast breaks. In addition to floor general Letso Gabaratiwe,  Rovers boasts a balanced group containing point guards Tumo Tobedza and Jaden Thabo Mfanyana, forward Leagilwe Sibanda, and frontcourt anchor Romeo Keaikitse.

• One Ramashotoo (Point Guard) | Yello Ranglers: Picked first to dictate tempo for the Ranglers' massive player depth chart. As a pure floor general, Ramashotoo provides high-IQ ball handling, press-breaking composure, and perimeter leadership. Manga Nawa is part of the largest roster of the draft alongside guards Tumelo Kedule, Lerako Sebolaaphuti, and forward David Anigwo.

The Ladies' Division top selections highlighted a balance of perimeter shot creation, elite point guard control, and frontcourt interior dominance.

• Bogadi Ogotseng (Shooting Guard) | Ruby Rascals: Chosen #1 overall as the primary offensive anchor for the Rascals. Ogotseng brings elite scoring versatility, backcourt shot-creation, and high-energy perimeter defense. Alongside the Rascals top pick, is Christine Pitinyane, point guard Thabiso Odirile, and wing player Michelle Olebeng.

• Nsagwa Ramatebele (Point Guard) | Cobalt Renegades: Selected first by the Renegades to run the floor as their chief backcourt orchestrator. Ramatebele delivers elite ball control, defensive point-of-attack pressure, and tactical execution from the point guard spot. The Renegades built around size and defensive length alongside point guard Nsagwa Ramatebele, Lefika Botoka and guard Peo Wame Nkgowe.

• Faith Moitato (Power Forward) | Midnight Rogues: Picked #1 overall to establish immediate interior power for the Rogues. Moitato provides rim protection, high-volume rebounding, and strong paint scoring to anchor the team's frontcourt rotation. In addition to perimeter scorer Utanaurua Justice, the Rogues selected point guard Lukani Mathangwane and wing defendors Nonofo Gaontebale and Naledi Ramorobjwa.

Draft Night serves as Episode 0 for the upcoming season. FaithWorx Sports is deploying an upgraded event operations structure to support the athlete experience on game day. All drafted athletes will receive pro-style media headshots, stat graphics, and personalized highlight reels to support their personal brand development. Game night arrival will feature the signature huddle, incorporating courtside MC calls, Amapiano/Afrobeats music curation, student rail-runs, and center-court signature moves for the broadcast camera. Every regular season game night will include full YouTube live streams and highlights, behind-the-scenes Facebook feeds, and short-form highlight clips for TikTok and Instagram. Athletes and event staff can access updated game schedules, official team rosters, and communication channels directly within the TeamLinkt App.
