Legends Triumph Over Pahukama Amidst Intense Controversy

Harare, Zimbabwe – In a heated and pivotal encounter, Legends emerged victorious over Pahukama with a final score of 10-8. The match, held on Sunday 09 November 2024, was marked by exceptional play, but was not without its share of controversies that momentarily overshadowed the competition on the table.

The first round saw both sides trading frames as Lindani and Ashley quickly secured wins for Pahukama, while Pride and Don responded in favor of Legends, leveling the playing field. In one of the most defining moments, Legends’ Don defeated Bhibhidho with a comprehensive clearance that left the Pahukama player with all his balls still on the table. This decisive win set the stage for Legends’ drive to victory and hinted at Pahukama’s waning hold on the match.

Tensions heightened in the second round when Pahukama contested the eligibility of Legends player Sami Khedhira (Hillary Duru), arguing that he needed to produce identification. The delay was quickly resolved when Khedhira provided the required ID, allowing the match to continue. Legends resumed play unshaken, with players like Moreblessing and Khedhira himself securing crucial wins, advancing the team’s position.

However, the match was further disrupted when the umpire called a foul on Mabhobho during a close-shot attempt, awarding Pahukama a free shot and a visit. Mabhobho and the Legends team vocally contested the decision, asserting that the shot had been fair. After much debate and high tensions, the frame was temporarily suspended. When Legends ultimately reached their 10th frame, securing victory, they chose to concede the disputed frame, ending the encounter with both skill and sportsmanship.

Legends’ hard-fought win over Pahukama also saw them make a strong claim for the 6th position, capitalizing on Magaffer’s point loss against Elusion. With this victory, Legends have showcased their resilience and unity, standing firm under the pressure of both tough play and controversial calls.
