Granville Keepers have success at the 2024 NC Fusion Cup In Greensboro, NC

The Granville Keepers brought 4 teams to the 2024 NC Fusion Cup this season. We played against teams from NC and Virgina. We had ourU9, U11, U12 and U14 teams in action. There were some cancelations due to severe weather, but overall it was a great tournamnet.

 

Our U12 team placed 1st in their bracket with a 3-0 win in the championship game behind a clean sheet by Christian Crump at goalie, goals by Jacob Labra, Matthew Monter, and Macon Wiggins, and Assists by Matthew Monter and Carter Pope. The U12 Granville Keepers team outscored their opponents in this tournamnet 10 to 5.

Our U14 team placed second in their bracket. They had a hard fought game against a U15 team in championship. The U14 Granville Keepers came away from the tournamnet with a total of 16 goals in 4 games with 10 assists. Jayden Duran led the team in Goals and Assists scoring 6 goals and having 4 asissts. Preston Ange (3) Brayden Finn (2), Mateo Salazar (1), and Edwin Orozco (1) also scored during this tournamnet. Marshall Katz and Daniel Rangel split time in the goal during this tournamnet and did a fantastic job of keeping our team in every game.

Our U11 team did not get the opportunity to play in the championship, but had a fantastic showing with their first game ending in a 10-0 win. The team scored a total of 12 goals across their 2 games. Due to weather they were not able to play the third game they had scheduled. Goals were scored by Diego Cervantes (3), Elyjah McDowell (2), Kaden Miolla (2), Bryce McPeek (2), Landon Giles (1), Wyatt Lofthouse (1), and Chase Norwood (1). There were 5 total asissts by Diego Cervantes (1), Elyjah McDowell (1), Wyatt Lofthouse (1), Bryce McPeek (1), and Chase Norwood (1).  Aiden McGavern had 1 shutout as goalie during the tournamnet.

Our U9 team fought hard and made it to the consolation game where they tied 3-3 in a very hard fought game. All of the players gave it their all and played very well over the weekend. The U9 Granville Keepers team had Goals by Aurelio Jimenez (3) and Tucker Rush (1). There were also assists by Aurelio Jimenez (1) and Tucker Rush (2).

It was an overall great weekend for the Granville Keepers.We look forward to our next tournamnet coming up at the end of August.
