Coach zinaw Bio
Born in Ethiopia, Coach Zinaw’s soccer journey began early, evolving as a midfielder in both high school and college teams. After relocating to the USA in 2006, he excelled with the DC UNITY team, winning two championships in six Ethiopian Soccer Federation in North America tournaments.
Transitioning seamlessly into coaching in 2012, Coach Zinaw volunteered at Reston Soccer Association, leading U-13 to U-15 boys teams for SFL tournament for five consecutive years. In 2021, he took on the role of JV Boys Head Coach at Paul IV High School and served for two years in addition to assisting the U-15 travel boys team at SYC soccer.
Beyond the technicalities, Coach Zinaw prioritizes sportsmanship, discipline, and character building. His coaching philosophy centers on creating position-based soccer teams, instilling responsibility and teamwork. Committed to continuous improvement, he earned a USSF D license and an advanced regional diploma from NSCAA.
Since 2017, Coach Zinaw has spearheaded ETHIO-DULLES SOCCER ( now ETHIO F.C) teaching basic and advanced soccer skills to individuals and groups. A devoted father of three, he balances family time with his unwavering passion for soccer, spending countless hours on the field, nurturing young talents to help them realize their dreams.
