TYSA MINOR DIVISION HAS EXPLOSIVE OPENING WEEK
The sounds of summer finally made an appearance Tuesday down at Oakley Park as the men/women of summer brought out the opening week for the TYSA Minor Division for 2024.
HAPPY DAYS NUTRITION 10
VC CAMEO 10
Opening Night for the Minor Division was an explosion of runs! Both HAPPY DAYS NUTRITION and VC CAMEO couldn't quite outscore each other but they both went on the offensive, cranking out 10 runs each,
Early on it looked VC Cameo was going to walk away with the game as they put up a 5 spot in the first, staking themselves to a 5-1 lead. A quick second inning from both sides brought the game to the offense infused 3rd inning. Both teams would plate 4 runs in the inning, keeping VC Cameo on top 9-5 but Happy Days Nutrition was just getting started. VC Cameo would add a run in the top of the fourth and final inning (due to time) but Happy Days Nutrition would plate 5 runs in the bottom half to salvage the 10-10 tie.

HAPPY DAYS NUTRITION 4
LITTLE HUGO'S 0
The second game of the week was not the offensive showcase that our opening game was. Before the game HAPPY DAYS NUTRITION owner JOSE ARIAS and LITTLE HUGOS' ERIC OSBORN started off our night with some high end first pitches. They led us right into our game.
LITTLE HUGO'S couldn't get any offense going, mustering just 1 hit, a single off the bat of lead off hitter LIAM BROWN. HAPPY DAYS NUTIRITION would plate a run in the top of the first, and it would prove to be the game winner. GRANT THOMAS walked and would come around to score on a double by CODY STEINMETZ.
That is how the score would stay until CODY STEINMETZ (3-3, 3 RBI) came back up in the 3rd and would do some more damage. CHRIS TAYLOR would reach on a walk and STEINMETZ would deposit a pitch into the open green space beyond the left center field fence, driving in 2 more runs. IZZY YOUNG would then walk and come around to score to close out the scoring. JUSTIN FULK would add an RBI.
On the mound for HAPPY DAYS NUTRITION JUSTIN FULK would pitch 2 innings and collect 6 strikeouts before giving way to GRANT THOMAS for an inning and 2 strikeouts. STEINMETZ would take care of the last 3 innings, ringing up 9 strikeouts.
For LITTLE HUGO'S, CHANCE McCRORY would start on the mound and pitch a total of 3 innings after finishing the first 2 and then pitching the 6th inning. In total he would strike out 9. LIAM BROWN would pitch 2/3 of an inning, striking out 2. HARMON GILL pitched in 2.1 innings, mustering 7 strikeouts of his own but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the HAPPY DAYS NUTRITION offense,
